Rashid Khan SRH

Rashid Khan, the 19-year-old leg-spinner and cricket star has been winning hearts and matches. Winning the glorious title of the ‘Player of the Match’ three times this IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad could not have asked for a stronger and more determined player!

Not only is he making his name in the cricket arena, he is also paving his way into popularity in social media, having 175k followers on Instagram.

He tags his fellow team members and cricket players in his posts and seems to be very happy.

He can certainly be called an inspiration to all the young people in their teens and adults as well, who dream to play cricket in the future.

Stepping into the international arena at the young age of 17, he was already setting records for the Afghanistan national cricket team and for future players to look up to. He managed to have the best bowling performance by an Afghan cricketer by gaining 5 wickets for 3 runs, wow! He also became the first player to manage a five-wicket haul in two overs. Talk about stopping at nothing!

The young sensation was also declared as the stand-in captain for the Afghanistan team for the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament. He has certainly conquered the international cricket space.

In the midst of all the success and fan-love, he played for the Caribbean Premier League, bagging a hat-trick, the very first one in the history of CPL.

Then he went onto IPL. He was and this year again he is proving that he is the best bowler of IPL and T20.

Coming to the IPL, he did not hold back. The then 18-year-old was bought for a huge sum of 4 crores at the IPL auction in 2017. Having proved his capability, he deserved every bit of that sum. Khan did not fail to set new records for himself and establishing himself as a competent and successful player in IPL 2017. This was his debut and clearly, it was important for him to make a name and position for himself in order to be called back next year.

Sure enough, he managed to score 17 wickets in 14 matches and receive a lot of praise for himself.

This year he made a comeback by taking away a whopping 9 crore, as the second-highest paid cricketer! We all are extremely happy for him.

This year, yet again he is proving how well-skilled he is. In 10 matches he has managed to score 13 wickets.

Captain Kane Williamson and coach Tom Moody are all praises for the young star. Williamson considers him a great asset to the team. Tom Moody commented on Rashid saying:

“Rashid is a pretty unique cricketer and he’s had a lot of success with us last year, He’s gone from strength to strength in the various tournaments that he has played around the world and also when he’s representing his country”

he just did not stop there and went onto say:

“He’s an important piece to our puzzle given that there’s an element of mystery around him and he has that real potency as a wicket-taker. So he’s important”

Clearly, he is driven by passion and has goals and dreams that he wishes to achieve for which he is continually working so hard. We should all look up to him and definitely learn from his efforts.
