The 36-year-old Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to LA Galaxy was a statement one for both the parties. The Swedish striker wanted to remain in the mix, and for the club, they wanted a superstar name after David Beckham.

This unique need for deed for both the sides have been fruitful thus far, with the striker scoring some decisive goals. However, the latest of his stint at the club would be the start of the future. The 36-year-old netted a hattrick that included a header and two shots in the second half of the game.

A first hattrick for the Swede:

His first hattrick in the Major League Soccer was in a winning cause, as the Galaxy side came back from behind to win 4-3 against Orlando City on Sunday. The big Swede scored all of his goals in a 24-minute period in the second half.

Earlier in the game, Zlatan provided an assist to Giovani dos Santos which led to Galaxy’s first goal in the game. Earlier in the game, Cristian Higuita had given Orlando the lead. LA Galaxy are now unbeaten in their past nine matches and are third in the Western Conference.

Zlatan’s diving efforts in the second half tied the scoreline at 3-3 before he hit the winner a few minutes later in the game. In his first season in the MLS, the striker has scored 15 goals, which is a good number for a debutant in the league.

A miss to the all-star game:

However, the Swede is set to miss the all-star game between MLS and Juventus in the next week. LA Galaxy added that the former Manchester United forward will miss out due to playing three matches in a week prior to the match, and also because of the increased traveling involved.

“I am disappointed to miss the 2018 All-Star Game against Juventus, one of my former clubs,” Ibrahimovic said to the LA Galaxy website. “I want to thank the fans for voting me to the team. My main focus is to score goals and help the LA Galaxy to the playoffs.”
